Ottawa’s historic neighbourhood, the Glebe, is home to hip bars, countless coffee shops, exquisitely trendy restaurants, and unique boutiques. The Glebe is also home to spectacular examples of architecture – ranging from old manses built at the turn of the 20th century to modern day urban in-fill projects.
In late January, the LRT Hardwood team worked on a custom hardwood floor design for a whole home renovation on Monkland Avenue. This home, located a stone’s throw away from Queens Elizabeth Drive, is being brought up-to-date with contemporary elements and eco-friendly fixtures.
The LRT team was tasked with installing unfinished 5″ white oak with bevels. Like many homes, the front entrance plays a key focal point, which is why the clients opted for a fully custom design. The main floor and master bedroom were then outfitted with a stunning chevon pattern, which helps draw the eye to the grain in the wood. In keeping with the homeowners renovation goals, a classic clear finish was applied after the installation. The end result lends itself to a light, airy and truly standout floor.
